Description
An exceptional English overdoor deeply carved with foliage and sea serpents with the central figure that of a bearded man wearing a cap with feathers in a roundel. Lovely dark surface. Panel measures 29 3/4 x 6 and man protrudes 3 1/2 inches. A lovely piece from the last quarter of the 16th century to 1600.
